Project Ahead is partner of the Italian-Albanian project “C.A.U.S.E. – Confiscated Assets Used for Social Experimentation”
The project – funded by the IPA programme – aims at contributing to the sustainable and efficacious reuse of confiscated properties to criminal organizations by the Albanian civil society thanks to international best practices.
The proposed action in realized by Partners Albania for Change and Development, in partnership with the team of Project Ahead, with the Department of Political Science, University of Naples Federico II and with the Comitato Don Peppe Diana. It is supported by the EU Delegation in Albania.
Thanks to their competences, all the partners have worked together with the aim of offering inputs for the management of the confiscated assets, enhancing civil society and bringing benefits for the whole community.
Once again, providing and improving expertise in the management and upgrading of confiscated properties is the crucial element for Project Ahead. This process has a real inclination towards the social sphere. With regards to confiscated assets, Project Ahead has focused on the specific formation of the new generation of experts and social entrepreneurs, thanks to the MBA offered by the University of Naples Federico II.
We expected an increase of the knowledge and awareness of the Albanian community with regards to the sustainable and efficacious reuse of confiscated properties to criminal organizations, through the creation of social enterprises managed by local non-profit organizations.

Just goes to show, two new enterprises have been created within a year:
- KinKolk Coffee Library, a new meeting place for youths who live in Durazzo., un luogo nuovo per i giovani di Durazzo.
- KeBuono Pastiçerie Sociale, a bakery based in Fier where the Italian traditional sweets meet the principle of legality and social inclusion., pasticceria di Fier in cui la qualità e la tradizione dolciaria italiana incontrano i valori di legalità e inclusione sociale.
A third enterprises in Saranda will be launched as soon as possible.
