The community focused on positive impact met and discussed on social and sustainable entrepreneurship as an instrument to face the challenge of our society
Last Friday 25 October, Dialogue Place, a coworking space and incubator of social enterprises hosted the third stage of Impact Now, on tour in Italy to share experiences, projects, ideas, needs, opportunities and solutions about social and environmental impact.
The tour is promoted by Lita.co, a European group for the impact investing, whose goal is to promote entrepreneurial projects with a positive impact on society and environment.
Thanks to the participation of special guests and speakers, during the event we talked about sustainability, social entrepreneurship, sustainable innovation, smart city, instruments for alternative finance, equity crowdfunding and impact investing for instance.
Hence, issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) promoted by the United Nations.
Okay, here’s what happened.
Part #1 (16:30-18:30)
The first part of the event concerned social entrepreneurs and startups that took part in two different workshop lasted on hour.
In the first workshop, Marco Traversi (CEO Project Ahead) talked about Incubation and acceleration of an enterprise. He focused on fundamental issues for startups that wants to generate a positive impact.
On the other hand, Luigi Corvo (Open Impact) talked about Impact Assessment, focusing on the instruments and information an entrepreneur needs to start a business or to improve the impact assessment of his/her goods can generate.
Part #2 (18.30-21.30)
The second part of the event was dedicated to the participants. Together with the expert speakers, we discussed about social entrepreneurship, sustainable innovation and impact investing.
A short introduction was led by the organizers and by Luigi Carbone, vice president of the second Municipality of Naples.
Felice Scalvini (Assifero) was the protagonist of Keynote speech, thanks to which citizens, investors and entrepreneurs became familiar with subject of impact investing, understanding their status in Italy.
Ivan Fadini (International Napoli Network – Bcorp) participated with his experience concerning starting a business with a positive impact. Ivan Fadini di International Napoli Network – Bcorp.
During the Pitch Session, some entrepreneurs candidate to the Impact Now Prize talked about they projects in four minutes, trying to persuade the jury present in person and via streaming at the event.
We reflected on sustainability, watching Genesi del Rigenero, a theatre monologue edited by Giuseppe Allocca, a social entrepreneur of the textile area, partner and administrator of LOFOIO that since 1800 recycle textile waste of rag-merchant of Prato.
Than, there was a Speech about Investing for impact, edited by Bianca Polidoro, Policy Manager EVPA (European Venture Philanthropy Association), partner of Impact Now tour in Belgium and Italy.
To conclude, the Panel Discussion focused on the impact investing thanks to the participation of experts, among them Stefano Rossi (LITA.co Italy), Giuseppe Sottile (Head of South Italy Area at Banca Etica), Tommaso D’Alterio (Fondazione Enrico Isaia e Maria Pepillo), Roberto Iannaccone (Fondazione Giordano Dell’Amore). Instead, Miriam Lanzetta participated as moderator.
The Networking Cocktail put an end to the event. The aperitif, during which we had the opportunity to meet the partners of Impact Now and the speakers of the event, was prepared by Tobilì, an ethnic food startup based in Naples and founded by a group of migrants from different parts of the Mediterranean Sea. It was established in 2016 also thank the support of Project Ahead.
